Hannah Simmons, AMFT

It is okay not to be okay.

If you are feeling anxious or sad and not sure why that’s okay. Maybe you have just been through a major life transition. This can cause us to become more anxious or sad than normal because change is scary. Or maybe what you feel is a general sense of anxiety over your life all the time.

No matter what you have going on in your life it can be beneficial to talk to someone who has an outside perspective. I would love to be that person for you. Together we can map out and come up with the coping skills and tools that work best for you.

Maybe you are in the process of beginning a family or you recently gave birth. This is a major change, for not only you but your family as well. It is normal to feel anxious, scared, or sad during this time. I want you to know that my office is a safe space for you to talk about these feelings as you enter this new stage of life. You will learn how to manage the symptoms in your daily life and the tools you need to face them. We will take it one day at a time and go at your own pace. There is no need to rush.

If you feel any of these things, you have taken the first step in your healing journey. You’ve arrived at a place where you can learn how to manage these feelings and emotions. I want you to feel heard as we talk through your fears of the future and your pain from the past. After our time together you will leave with more confidence in your ability to handle anxiety when it comes up in any phase of your life.

My passion for working with anxiety stems from my own personal journey with anxiety. I know what it is like to experience relief from the symptoms and hope that through working together you’ll be able to experience relief of your own. I’ve spent the past three and a half years in the private practice setting working with individuals through their anxiety and depression and look forward to continuing to work with something I am so passionate about.

Outside of the therapy room, I spend a lot of time investing in my relationships with family and friends. I recently got a new puppy, who consumes a lot of my time as well! Additionally, I love learning new things, reading, and binging on Netflix shows.
