Kimberly Parker MA, Pre-Licensed Professional
Specializations: LGBTQIA+, Relationship Problems / Couples Counseling, Trust Issues, Religious Trauma /Deconstruction, Bipolar Disorder, Trauma and PTSD, Anger Management
I work with diverse clients experiencing a variety of life stressors including LGBTQIA+ intricacies, relationship problems, mood instability, and complex trauma. I strive to embody an empathetic and non-judgmental presence. I believe that all people make sense in their context and use this as a framework to understand my clients.
My work with clients is built upon a strong therapeutic bond. Just as wounds happen in relationships, healing must also happen within relationships. I work from a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach as I guide clients through processing trauma, gaining coping skills for intense emotions, and increasing relational effectiveness.
I previously trained at Positive Impact Health Centers where I worked with clients from diverse ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, and socio-economic backgrounds with issues such as HIV+ stigma, Bipolar Disorder, personality disorders, PTSD, racial trauma, religious abuse, anger management, self-esteem, substance abuse, addiction, relationship problems, and non-monogamous relationships.
Outside of work, I enjoy advocating for equality, exploring the city, drinking good coffee, geeking out over dogs, laying by the pool, grounding myself through yoga, reading poetry, and enjoying time with my loved ones.
Session Fee is $165
