Rachel Garcia APC, NCC
Starting with a new therapist is hard.
It feels scary beginning a journey of healing with a stranger you’ve never met. I want to make that process as gentle and as easy as possible, because you deserve it.
Imagine sitting down with someone where you don’t have to filter who you are or what you say. You aren’t responsible for the emotions of the person in front of you - all you have to do is simply show up, and be you. The environment is safe, open, and judgement free. Every part of who you are is invited and celebrated. There are no prerequisites for worthiness; all of you is welcome, exactly where you are at.
The space is collaborative.
Even though there is a professional in the room, YOU are the expert on you. Your values, your emotions, your identity, your story, - they make sense. You make sense. And your voice is so valuable in this relationship. The interventions and modalities integrated into the process are curated to best fit you. There is no one size-fits-all; with me, your preferences will always be valued.
I am passionate about getting to know all of you, connecting with every version of yourself that shows up, and uncovering what it is that makes you, you. Through that journey, you will expand your self-awareness, learn how to love yourself well, and grow into your full potential.
Healing is possible.
Regardless of where you have been or what you have done, you deserve healing. From a trauma-informed and multicultural lens, we will take a look at your story to get the whole picture. You and I will establish a space that fosters a transformational connection through a relational encounter, providing us with true, lasting change. That means that everything we do, will flow from the relationship we create.
The trust we build will allow us to dig deeper, develop an understanding of who we are, identify and challenge our unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, and pursue wholeness - together. We will grow our skills in communication, processing, and regulation, so we can continue to do the work in and outside of the session. Our plan of action might change from week to week, but no matter what, we will work together to discover your fullest potential, and your most authentic and healthy self.
The process won’t always be a walk in the park, yet I am committed to doing whatever I can to meet you with the tenderness and understanding that you are so worthy of receiving. I am dedicated to learning how to best meet you where you are at, and commit to seeking counsel, supervision, and research to gain all the tools necessary to do so.
Authenticity is everything.
We may laugh together, cry together, talk about our hobbies or interests, or even share tik toks and songs. If you’re like me, we can connect over dogs and iced coffee, plants and the outdoors, or chat about reruns of The Office. In our time together, every part of who you are is welcome, wanted, and longed for. I will show up fully as myself, and I hope you will too.
